Abstract

Abstract. Regional economic development is one of the important pillars in improving community welfare. The success of development is determined by policies that are able to improve Bukittinggi City has a small area, it has the highest GDRP in west Sumatera Province indicating strong economic efficiency. This study aims to identify the leading economic sectors thar contribute to regional growth using the Location Quotient (LQ), Shift share, and Klassen Tipology methods to identify leading sectors in Bukittinggi City. The resukts of this study are expected to provide strategic direction for making more taregeted regional development policies, as well as increasing the competitiveness and economic resilience of the community.

Abstrak. Pembangunan ekonomi daerah merupakan indikator penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kesuksessan  pembangunan ditentukan oleh kebijakan yang mampu meningkatkan Kota Bukittinggi memiliki luas wilayah yang kecil, namun memiliki PDRB tertinggi di Provinsi Sumatera Barat, menunjukkan efisiensi ekonomi yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mengidentifikasi sektor ekonomi unggul yang berkontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan daerah dengan metode Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share, dan Tipologi Klassen untuk mengidentifikasi sektor unggulan di Kota Bukittinggi. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan arah strategi dalam pengambilan kebijakan pembangunan daerah yang  terarah, serta meningkatkan daya saing dan ketahanan ekonomi masyarakat
